Hi Jack.

For ages: 15 - 60

When I read about situations like this, my mind just completely gets lost. There are so many unnecessary things about this incident. A man "with mental issues" held airline workers hostage on a plane that would be departing for Canada, demanding to go to Cuba. He used a gun. I hate how the author of the article mentioned that the man had "mental issues" a couple times. Is that supposed to get readers to sympathize for this man and be more understanding? I'm pretty sure anyone who reads this article will think to themselves, "Well, this man clearly needs help". But I don't think that's because of the so-called "mental issues". I think anyone reading an article about ANY person who hi-jacks a plane would think to themselves that the person clearly needs professional help.

Another issue that I have with this situation is the man himself. I understand that he may not be completely sound of mind, but hijacking a plane, BY HIMSELF, with a single gun, was a BAD idea. In the past, there have been much more elaborate terrorist plots than running into an empty, landed plane, with a single gun, demanding to be brought to Cuba. Much more elaborate plots that have FAILED. Such as the John F. Kennedy International Airport attack plot, where there were undercover agents everywhere. Or the Glasgow International Airport attack, where three men drove an armoured truck filled with propane through the airport, but were stopped by airport security before they were even halfway to their desired goal. My point is that this man who decided to hi-jack a plane with no real plan, had no chance of succeeding.

My final complaint is about the article itself and how it portray's Stephen Harper as careless and like his only comment on the situation is that he was "Deeply Concerned". Harper was in Jamaica at the time of the incident working with the Jamaican Prime Minister to develop a program that will work to stop crime in Jamaica. And as we can clearly see from this ridiculous situation, they need it...

Dream

At the end of the day, I retire to bed
And pictures begin to flow through my head

Who can say what will be in store for me tonight?
No one can.
Will I even remember it when I wake up?

Will I be swimming with a shark?
Will my purple dog begin to bark?

Will I experience a nightmare that will not please?
Will I be lucid a free to move with ease?

I could fight in a graveyard and attack my foes,
Only to run away! Stuck! Unable to move my toes!

I could get away, with my beautiful wife!
Or a guy with a gun, could end my life...

Will my dream re-occur, and never ever end?
Or will I experience it once, and never again?

It's unique to you! No one else can have your dreams!
Although it seems like everyone tries to find out what they mean.

Dreams are masterpieces
They're phenomenal, fantastic, frightening.
Unlocking the secrets of dreams - why they exist, would be like finding el dorado or the fountain of youth.

It would be...

Glorious

So now your understand.

You understand why I love to retire to bed,
And wait for the dreams to fill my head.

Lead

Mr. Kwon,

After many months of searching I believe I may have finally found the man who was responsible for the death of your son. My team of investigators located a man named Johan Liiva who meets the description you gave us. He has a tattoo of a coi-fish on his left arm that matches the photo exactly. Liiva was born in Gottenburg, Sweden in 1987. His parents died when he was just one year old in a terrible fire. He was adopted by the Nakamura family who raised him in Japan.

What makes me almost certain that this man is the man you've been searching for is what I observed as I pursued him earlier this week. I followed Liiva through a ravine where he met with another person and donned traditional red samurai armour and began to spar. The fact that he is trained in the art of the samurai is a dead give away. I don't think he suspects at all that we have been searching for him all this time.

Sir, this description, along with the given timeline suggests that Johan was involved in the tournament that took place two years ago where your son was tragically murdered.

Following this letter you will find photos of Liiva.

I will wait for your response. Until then, I will continue to pursue and observe Liiva.

Regards,

A week in the life of my guitar.

Dear Diary,

I just have to start this off by saying today was an absolutely amazing day!  The sun came shining through the attic window and my flawless body gleamed radiantly. It was such a good feeling. I began my day at about 12:00. I went over a couple of the usual songs like Holy Diver and Pure Hatred which was nice. Then around 1:30 I got a huge shock! Theo stuffed me away in my case!

The thought of what could possibly be going on never escaped my mind! Was I getting some work done? Was I being sold?! My emotions were bouncing back and forth between terrified and excited like a ping-pong ball! I was SO ANXIOUS. I hate being in my case because if I'm in my case then my perfection isn't being admired! Although my case is quite comfortable. It was specifically made for my unique body shape.

Finally the case opened up and I was in a new house! I was with one of Theo's friends who owned many other guitars but none as great as me! The father of Theo's friend even said so! He went on about how my pickups sounded amazing. Theo told him he was considering getting active pickups installed to replace my passive ones! [ISN'T THAT EXCITING?!]

And of course, Theo went on to boast about my flawlessness. My mahogany body, three piece set neck with 24 XJ frets and the rosewood fretboard, my amazing passive pickups and of course, my glorious, gleaming coat of chameleon paint which allows my colour to change from red to green.

I played so many songs in the new house like Pursuit of Vikings, Hit The Lights, and Spheres of Madness! Along with some old classics like Raining Blood, Crystal Mountain and Breaking The Law!

After we were done, Theo packed me up and headed home.

Needless to say, today was amazing. :D

Bruce!

I'm sitting in guitar class for this eavesdrop. [Tired as ever, might I mention.] My teacher begins talking with a student in my class about Bruce Springsteen. I swear, they talk about Bruce Springsteen every single day! It's ridiculously annoying to have to hear about that guy every guitar class. My teacher isn't even that into him, I can tell he's just being nice by conversing with the student who mentions the boss on a daily basis.

Last year in guitar class, this same student did a presentation on Bruce Springsteen that was so agonizingly boring. It was so boring that even the teacher was falling asleep. Now, all they talk about is Bruce Springsteen's upcoming concert in Toronto and how expensive tickets are going to be.

I don't understand all the hype! I don't think he's even that good. I could NEVER picture myself listening to any Springsteen. His performance at the Super Bowl was less than decent. I could've sworn I was watching a beginner guitar player! His songs are SO easy to play. And was having six guitars on stage REALLY necessary?! But in his defense he did have a strong stage presence which I find is always important whenever I out to see a band.

I don't think I'll ever understand what people think is so amazing about Bruce Springsteen.

Cake Cake Cake

This next conversation I eavesdropped on was between three guys. It began with one guy mentioning that he had to pick up a cake for his mom. Once he mentioned cake, a whole mouth watering conversation erupted.

Many types of cakes were mentioned. Custard cakes, "treatza pizzas" from Dairy Queen, chocolate and peanut butter cakes, even blueberry-apple pies and....erotic cakes were all the subject of discussion in this conversation. But what would a conversation about cake be without the mention of cheesecake? As soon as cheesecake was mentioned it seemed like the excitement of the conversation rose so high. One guy mentioned that his favourite cheesecake is pumpkin cheesecake which I thought sounded really good. Another guy said that he's not so much a fan of cheesecake, but more the cheesecake crust. [ Strange? ] And this whole conversation about cheesecake inspired one guy's story of a heavenly sounding restaurant in Florida called the Cheesecake Factory; where the menu is 21 pages long, and the last four pages of the menu are completely cheesecake. Sounds nice!

After their conversation ran dry, they began singing....which I did not find amusing....

YOOO GUY

I recently eavesdropped on a conversation between two guys from EYCI on the ttc. Right away I could tell that this was going to be a weird conversation because I could hear them laughing hysterically before I even sat down near them. When I set near them they were saying "YOOOO GUY" in a really weird accent and laughing about it. They were trying to remember a girl that used to say that a lot.

It took them a while to recall who used to talk like that, but once they they were laughing at least twice as hard. They remembered her from a couple years ago so they began reminiscing about their old friend. All while still imitating her saying phrases like "YOOOO GUYY" and "EEEEAAASSSY GUY" over and over again. I imagine a few people on the train were probably really annoyed.

After they were done with that conversation, one guy pulled out his sketch book and began going on about this drawing he was going to do for his friend sitting next to him and how much he was going to love it.
